History

NoAdware 4 has been accused many times of being a rogue antispyware program. It also used (and someway still does) multiple websites that appear to be advertising a different product.

[1]Noadware was part of COAST, the consortium of Anti-Spyware Vendors, that disbanded in late 2005

[2]NoAdware was de-listed on Spyware Warrior's rogue antispyware list in early 2004.

The NoAdware site offers a "free trial" that will scan the system and ask for payment before removing all the malware it has detected.

Reception

Adware report, a popular anti spyware testing websites, judges NoAdware by saying:

"While still light on features, NoAdware 4.0 represents a significant step forward from previous versions. It now provides better protection than such industry heavyweights like McAfee and at a reasonable price. That said, the additional features are not as well executed as in other products and we experienced a critical problem with our browser after scanning. " However, according to the test, NoAdware identified and disabled only 54% of the spyware in the test machine.

[4] Noadware was mentioned in the May 2008 issue of Smart Computing magazine. Specifically:

"An antispyware program with a free scanner, such as NoAdware, can help you find browser hijackers."
